223 Six

I looked down in the engine forums, and 223 isn't listed in the title of the straight 6 section. Is there any difference in the exhaust manifold for a truck or car? A buddy of my friend is working on a car with a 223 in it and he needs a exhaust manifold.

I would still ask that question in the L6 forum as there are some that may know the answer.
DId they use the 223 in a car?
From what I have seen of the 223 in trucks IIRC the intake & exh are on the other side from the 300 six right?
What is bad on his manifold? They can be welded but they had to be heated in an oven and the right rod used for welding.
You would need to find a welder that does cast iron welding.

I can tell you on the 300 there are 2 different exh manifolds.
I had to replace the head pipe on my 81 F100 and the stock pipe would not fit the manifold.
I think the motor came out of a car, motor was not the trucks motor, and why I say what I do on the 300.
With the 300 I went with later EFI split EXH manifolds.

C3AZ-9426-A (replaced B4A-9426-A; B8A-9426-A; C1TE-9426-A) .. 223 Exhaust Manifold / Obsolete

223 exhaust manifold is the same for 1954/64 cars and trucks. This manifold is infamous for cracking, so it's very hard to find used. NOS is non existent.

223: 1954/64 full sized Fords (1954/61 Fairlane; 1959/64 Galaxie; 1961/64 Custom) // 1954/64 F100/600 & B500/600 (School Bus) & P100/500 Parcel Delivery; 1963/64 N500/600.

223 intake/exhaust manifolds located on the left (drivers side) of the engine.

I appreciate the info and will pass it on. I know he's working on a car, don't know if he's restoring or just making a driver. I know you can buy headers on Ebay, but they do list them as for being on a truck.
