Navik's is crap Avoid Avoid Avoid
NAVIKS LIED TO ME! I recently installed the Naviks unit into my F250 and I spoke with them 3 times on the phone and asked the same chain of questions several times to really make sure im getting my info correct....
1- Will this allow for seamless interaction with my cameras while in motion. Utilizing the button sequence along with the Naviks sequence in any gear under any situation? Answer from all 3 Naviks reps was YES
2- Am I loosing any features on my dash or truck in general while using your product i.e bluetooth, gps, defroster (one of the button used to turn cameras on and off in the system) and the 1 button on the radio. Answer from all 3 rep's : NOTHING AT ALL IN YOUR TRUCK WILL WORK ANY DIFFERENT THEN OEM
3- My goal is to have it similar to my Chevy 2500. Start truck start driving use cameras. Turn signal left get left camera, push bed camera get bed camera etc. After watching videos and reading online I did previously understand that buttons would need to be pressed to activate the system etc such as the defroster and number 1. Will your Navik system allow me to do all of this seamlessly with out a massive myriad of buttons that need to be pressed? Is this a true system for real like driving and users or more of a SEMA product? Answer from all 3 reps: You will be able to do anything you were able to at any time in your truck. Nothing will change. Turn signal on get that sides camera etc. Turn on bed cam get bed cam etc. This was designed and used for people who use there trucks regularly and real life situations....
I was STOKED! The exact product I was looking for. Ordered my unit, dodged the shipping switch (watch how much your being charged) and waited for it to come. Installation went smooth no real issues.
Using the system: THEY ARE COMPLETE LIARS.
-The system needs to be activated EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU USE IT. The turn signal cameras when turned on and ganged by the turn signal scroll through each camera for roughly .75-1 second each starting with 360/back then front then 1/3rd screen half screen then finally full screen of that side. By the time I change lanes the cameras are starting to get to the turn side full screen. This is exactly what I did not want and specifically asked about.
- The cameras need to be turned on and turned off each time you use them by repeatedly pressing the button series instead of just going back or hitting the home button. If you do not the rest of your dash and climate control buttons will work intermittently and sporadically.
- YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE YOUR GPS WHEN THE CAMERAS ARE ENGAGED Mine for hours last night was telling me I was off the maps along with moving backward while on the highway going forward. If you have the turn signal portion of the cameras turned on (why wouldn't you every time you drive as thats the point, no?) then your GPS will not locate you since the system is designed to "trick the truck into thinking its in park and not moving" - Naviks rep. When asked how they effects safety features OR anything else they laughed and said not to worry about it. Also, if I cant use my GPS while these cameras are being used at all then im really lost on why you would want them.
- I tow all the time and consistently have a full bed. The idea was to be able to use my 3rd brake camera to watch Into my bed while driving. This is great and does work but again ONLY IF GPS IS NOT ON and may or may not jump back to the home screen.
- if your listening to the radio on any station or any channel, when you want to turn on the turn signal cameras you "MUST HOLD THE NUMBER 1 BUTTON FOR 10 SECONDS". I knew that going in about the number 1 as its stated in the instructions but failed to realize that if your listening to anything on the radio and hold 1 you will set it as a new preset. Every time Ive tried to turn my cameras on or off I've now changed the number 1 preset station. WTF is that?
I spoke to Naviks this am when I learned all this information after the fact. After explaining this whole situation, to one of the reps I originally spoke with, I got laughed at and was told "Go buy the Chevy again since it worked how you wanted" and then "How much did you spend on your truck? Why are you asking for a $550 refund?" followed by laughter.
I am a firm believer in standing by your product and clear and full disclosure. These guys dont inform you about any of these topics. No place does it tell you about loosing OEM functionality. I suggest staying clear of these guys and the product. They refuse to take it back now and overall are dishonest.
Happy Thanksgiving

It's too bad you had such an awful experience. Mine works great. Doesn't mean there is a better product but I couldn't be happier with mine.
