Hey look, his charge gauge is working. That is about all you will ever see out of it. You may not see that if you move your head toward the pass side.
Hmmm, you have a good eye, Franklin2. When I repainted the gauge needles, the original ammeter was damaged. This is one from another cluster. The pointer is slightly off center [to the right @ rest], as you see it. This gauge does actually function, however. When the engine is started and the key is released, the needle swings to about midway towards "C" and then progressively returns to rest @ center [plus the slight skew to the right].
It also indicates discharge if the engine is off and headlights or brake lights are on.
THIS is the tach I want. Where did you find one with a low scale? Heavy truck?
Thanks.
I would have liked the low scale one for my 300 six truck but I could not beat the price from a member on here. (thank you)
From what I have seen posted both the low scale tach & the extra digit odom is from a larger truck.
I think the tach may have also been used in v8 large trucks as they would not spin as high as them in pick ups.
And because the large truck would get driven more miles that is why odom.

So I put the gas tach in my truck and to my surprise it didn't work. After some research and testing of the 3 wires it needs to run I determined it wasn't getting power with the key on. The red/yellow wire had nothing.
I checked all my fuses and they were all fine.
I then remembered the PO butchered some wires behind the radio to stick an aftermarket unit in.
I inspected the mess back there and found a cut red/yellow wire. Checked this wire with the key on and it had 12v when it should. Looked a little more back there and found the OTHER red/yellow it was spliced to.
Connected it and all is well.
Ford daisy chained the 12v red/yellow wire and someone clipped 1 of the wires off at the splice which is at a plug. 2 wires crimped to one pin.
