My first ford

I switched from GM and have loved my truck. The biggest reason, besides a great deal, I bought my truck was the fron taxle on the SDs. However, it hasn't been all that i thought it would. I thought the tie rods would hold up a lot better but only a moth after a leveling kit, I replaced the ends, and here I am again needing to replace them. Is the OE part just junk or am I just crazy? My father in law has an 18 with 20k and a leveling kit, 35" toyo open countrys and his ends are just fine, compared to my leveling kit and BFG small terrains. So I would think his would have gone out before mine..

Could it be a bad designed leveling kit or something?

Also, when I get on soft ground and got to take off, I have noticed it sounds like the front axle is gripping but I have it in 2x4, along with what sounds like a knock. And it feels like something is rotating and then hitting, causing the knock sound. Could that just be the bad rod ends? And is the transfer case always "on standby" or something? Like I said I'm new to ford and maybe this is normal. I have has SFA trucks before but they were 80s chevys but that is a dinosaur compared to this truck.

Thanks in advance guys for any input.

Check your hubs and make sure they are in auto and not locked. This can cause some noise in the front end.

probably was the hub, It was turned just a little bit off of auto. Hopefully that will fix that
