Needle way past full. Trip meter says I’ve used 1.3g yet almost a quarter tank gone on it? Fuel leak? Supposed to have a 37g tank on this 2011 6.7 Lariat
on my 2011 6.2l, one day the fuel needle will be above full, and the next day (after very little driving, if any), it will look like the needle in your picture. Do I eould say the neefles are very accurate at the top end.

I’ve been watching this type of behavior since I bought the truck used in July. It seems off. So I guess I should pay it so much attention? Technically with a 37 gal tank, each section should be almost 10g. Been seemingly like I have. 20 g tank instead lol

they’re never evenly divided (ie: 10 gallons per quarter). I have a 44 gallon tank that, when showing half full, actually takes 25 gallons to fill.
When on a trip, I rarely watch the fuel gauge or the DTE calc. I watch the gallons used and when it approaches 2/3 to 3/4 empty, then I search for fuel on Gas Buddy.
I asked a dumb question haha I meant recently new. Forgive me for asking if it's posted in your signature but I'm on an app: is it a longbed?
Shortbed models come with a 24 gallon tank.
Is it possible that someone upgraded yours to a larger size OR messed with programming to make the truck calculate for a smaller tank?
I was going by what is in the 2011 brochure. it’s a lariat. A 37 1/2 gallon fuel tank so that’s what I’ve been going by. Are you telling me it’s not? Because it’s a short bed even though it’s a lariat? That may very well then explain why am confused on the fuel gauge. I must have misread the options and standards for a Lariat.

There is the Long Bed - a full 8', and short bed, much more common, Short bed 6' 9". Short bed, as others have said is about 24 gallons. Lariat is just the trim level and comes in either Long Bed, Short Bed, Quad cab, Supercab, and probably even Std cab.
The 6 3/4 foot bed for the 6.7L diesel (super cab, crew cab, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch...doesn't matter) is a 26 gal tank. Ford had to make room for the 5 gal DEF tank.
I topped off a few minutes after the needle first moved and was able to pump in 8 gallons. 17 6.7 CCLB, 48 gallon tank. Interestingly enough, it seems to even out. When the needle show 1/2 it takes within a gallon or so of 24...
