I just changed out the headlights on my 91 Toyota pickup with the 5x7 led headlight (the type with several (15) Cree LED’s). My question is has anyone found a similar light for the Ex? These lights are amazing and would like to install them on the Ford too.

I didn't go with LEDs, but the best change I made was installing a headlight harness that provides full power directly to the bulbs (via a relay), rather than through the headlight switch like the stock setup.

Daniel Stern Lighting. It is my understanding that Daniel has someone make the harness for him, and it is very high quality. That said, my only minor annoyance was that he asks for a bunch of measurements for a 'custom harness', but the harness was not made to my measurements, but it does fit. It just doesn't route the way I wanted it to route. I think the person making the harness knows what fits and just uses those measurements.
FYI, the website is not very good, but Daniel is great at responding to e-mails

Yes, definitely brighter. Not anything like adding a 50" LED lightbar, but definitely brighter.
Lastly, I am a big fan of LED lighting, I have JW Speaker LED headlights on my Bronco, but I just didn't find anything I liked when I was upgrading my Excursion lights.
i got my harness installed today too. real easy to make your own, digikey has relays etc for cheap, wire is cheap, can do it all for under 50 DIY.
world of difference getting the bulbs to >14v instead of barely 12.5v. factory wire looked like about 20ga, so way undersized plus all the current was routed through the switch

I just used my new LED headlights for the first time tonight. Wow are they amazing. Will the above relay harness fix the static I get from the radio when the lights are On? Thanks for the help

no.
the harness is only used to increase the voltage to the lights. i know nothing about LED lights other than the 7" trucklite i have installed in my motorcycle. I don't trust led replacement bulbs to actually put the light where it is required unless it is a true led light in an led housing

Thank you sir, I suspected that was the case. Was hoping drawing power, essentially directly from the battery, instead of through the stock harness, would help.
The LED bulbs are awesome. Below is the link to my build thread from when I installed them. Very bright, no issues ever. And once properly aimed, they cast a very good beam pattern. similar to HID bulbs with cutoff edge. They don't blind oncoming traffic like HID does when you install into a non-HID housing
