Fouind a local guy selling a 7.3 2001 diesel at what I thought was a good price. I normally trust my own instincts on trucks during a drive test. This truck shifted well and on time . No shimmy driving it. I really liked the truck I always do a carfax on old trucks for milage verification. The carafe report was junk. Almost no information at all. It had nothing on the milage or wether it could of been rolled back or not. I hate to pass up a good deal, but I do not know what else to do. Any suggestions?

 

Do the oil cap test. Flick your finger throughout the body for different sound(bondo), check for missing paint on the bolts under the hood...

 

Have them leave it unplugged overnight and not start it... see how it fires up on a cold morning with no help
