I bought an aftermarket horn for my '97 350 and noticed the stock horns had the bugles facing about an inch apart.. I would think this would produce a more mellow and decreased sound... I want decibels not music... I want to offset their direction. It seems the easiest way to get to them is take out the right turn signal light.. The only screws I can see are the two on top of the trim .. How does the trim and the turn signal housing come out ? Also, will adding another horn without deleting one of the stock ones be too much draw on the horn relay ?.. The new one and the stock horn look to be the same, though I hope is louder..
Thanks for any reply ..
I want a set of train horns for my truck. Forget that small stuff.
If I were you I'd buy a horn kit from Napa or Schucks. About 25 bucks and you can wire them right into your button. Just use the relay and you will be fine on current draw. It will also allow you to use your old horn and have 2 new ones that are a LOT louder.
I have the horn, it's a 132 db electric... I see where I want to mount it and I see the wires I need to tap into...Up to that, is copadacious.... I need to get the right light trim and right turn signal light out of the way so I can get to and offset the stock horns and room to bolt and wire the new one on ...I can't see what holds the bottom of the trim and the turn signal bucket in ...It's probably simple, I just can't see it...
Not sure about the stick horn. I left it for inspection purposese. What I did was mount a dash switch. When the switch is off the stock horn sounds, when on the stock + air horns go. I would think I'm a little louder then 132 bb I posted a picture in my gallery.
Jerrybo66, you ever figure how to get to the horns? I can't even see them behind the right head light. They are under the battery and I am not removing that either. There has to be a better way.
