I have a 2000 F250 7.3. I am having problems with my headlights. The driver side everything works ie Daylight, Low and High Beams. On the passenger side the only thing that works is the High Beams. I am getting no power to the plug on the passenger side except for the high beams. I have replaced the Headlight switch thinking that was the problem. Still nothing. A buddy suggested that I hard wire the drivers side to the passenger side and well that was a dumb move. Blew the fuses. Now I am thinking that I have a short in the main wiring harness. I have tracked the harness from the headlight switch to the drivers side headlight but then it goes behind everything. Does anyone know if it could be something else? Or can someone walk me through what I need to remove to get to the rest of the Harness.
When I bought the truck in Dec 2017 it had HUD lights on. I switched them back to factory in March 2018 and had no problems with the light till now.
Please help. This is the only vehicle I have and now that winter has set in I need my lights to work.
I had a similar problem recently with my front right turn signal. It turned out to be the plug a the switch in the column. Some of the pins were loose and pulling away from the plug.
You may want to forgo the stock wiring all together if you are that far into it. I ran all new 12&14g wire thru relays triggered by the stock wires, stock lights were a touch brighter, leaves plenty of power available to upgrade lights at a later date if you want
Did you disconnect the old wiring before you hooked it up to the good headlight? The wiring to your bad light sounds like it may be pinched/shorted to ground.
X2 on Wesleys' idea of installing a fresh harness. The OE wiring design for the headlights can be improved a lot, that writeup is a good example. If you still have the HID harness you can possibly use that as a model with better wire/relay/fuse. You can probably find a harness on the net but in my experience they use crappy wire, better to build it yourself.
The first time I found FTE I was looking for that kind of wiring diagram for my 75 F250... the one that got away. :/

If you are sure there is no power to the low beam pin on the passenger side connector (check driver's side to see if you are putting the probes in the right places, if I recall center is ground and each outer is hi-lo) then find that same wire up in the main harness going from the driver's side to the cab and pierce it and check there. If there is 12 volts splice in a new wire there and at the pass side connector and you'll be good to go. I had this issue on a Marquis and the wire was just plain broke in half inside the loom from some earlier collision repair. If the wire is still dead up in the main harness coming from the cab then it's time to check in the cab/steering column/multifunction switch.
