Looking at the roof of my '19 without a sunroof, it seems like the black plastic covers might conceal mounting points for roof rails/baskets. Anyone have experience with that?
Looking at Yakima as well. Have on on my 05 Dmax Leer Camper shell and love it. Do you suppose a 12' kayak would work and still allow 5th Wheel towing with the F350 CC LB? Of course it would have to be moved forward.
Question answered: 13' from front bumper to rear of cab. I figure a Yakima like the one pictured + a front receiver to use as a tie off point and a 12' 50lb-ish fishing kayak should be fine. Might not even need the front receiver.

Could you give me the P/N M/N for that Yakima please? And where you got it? Is yours the oval crossbars? I prefer the round bars since I already have the crossbars but might be a challenge finding a kit w/o crossbars. https://www.autoanything.com/roof-ra...se-rack-system

If I was going to haul a full size canoe (17') that might be the business but with a 10 - 12' max kayak at only 50lbs. I'm thinking just strapping to the Yakima with this https://www.autoanything.com/roof-ra...ler-kayak-rack or maybe the Yakima 'J' rack.
might be just fine. I'm thinking I won't need a front receiver at all and maybe not even a strap to the front of the truck. Carried a big canoe on my camper shell for years just strapping to the cross bars and had no issues at highway speeds, etc.
Thanks for the help, tho'. I have 'til next summer to make this happen.
What are the specifics regarding camper shell and racks? I like the set up. Was nearly convinced on a Lomax with Adarac but this looks useful and sharp as well.
