Column shifter issues
I'm about to turn 3,000 miles on my '03 CC Lariat 2WD. So far it's been in the dealership twice to fix a broken shift cable retainer, broken door on overhead console, and to replace a dying alternator.
Ever since day one it's been difficult to get into reverse and Ford is telling me everthing is OK. I can put the truck into Park from Reverse without pulling back on the shifter. Is this normal? I can also get it into reverse from drive without pulling back on it sometimes.
Any ideas on what might be happening? They told me it was the cable retainer but that made no difference.
Also, is there a top 5 list or 10 list of things to keep an eye on with these trucks? I've been reading the forum for about a month and have seen many problems.
