52 cab ground

parts book says the engine to cab ground strap attaches to the cab with a 5/16 bolt. I have the correct strap and mocking it up from the bellhousing I only see one cab cutout that will fit a 5/16 bolt, but that cutout has not been punched. On both our 52 and 51 cab that cutout is left unpunched, almost like it never had a ground strap to the cab from the factory? Thoughts on that?

Look behind the battery, under the relay. Do you have a boss welded to the firewall?

Not that I could see, I assume when you say boss you are referring to a threaded insert or a stud. On the 52 cab there is an unpunched cutout about three inches above the cab floor even with the battery. The stock battery ground is 17.5” and that gets me to the unpunched 5/16 knockout just left of the accelerator linkage I have pictured. It seems like I could use that knockout and have both ground straps hit it - the one from bellhousing to cab and battery to cab. That seems better (at least in my mind) instead of hitting the firewall with battery to cab in a different place. Thoughts on that?
