2012 F350 6.7 shut down

2012 6.7 shut down on highway with a reduce power warning also chimed and 2 codes came up P0087 and P2209 and truck currently only cranks and will not start. Filters good, routine maintenance always down 123k on mileage good fuel always used.

P0087 = Low Fuel Rail Pressure

Do you use fuel additives and possibly dropped a cardboard disc or foil into the tank? The frame mounted fuel filter could be sucking air if it was not tightened correctly at the last service. You say filters are good, did you just change them prior to getting the P0087 code?

I'd start with changing that filter and see what might be inside if anything. Take special care to lubricate the O-ring and tighten the housing until it hits the stop to prevent air from entering the system.

Thx in advance

I had recently changed filters but I pulled them after shut down and put new ones in just because, no additives in past 6 months plus I watch for that foil cardboard thing always.

These are the same codes as the ones in this thread that was caused by high pressure fuel pump failure.

The first code is a fuel pressure code the second is a NOX Sensor code. Let's hope it's not a failed HPFP. You say you were on the highway, bad fuel maybe?
