For some reason my '18 350 doesn't seem to get the mileage my '17 250 did. Highway mileage (manually calculated) on my last road trip (Jax to Mackinac Island & back) was around 16.1 - 17.2 mostly interstates (75-80 mph when possible) & 17.9 on the back roads. Pulling a 20' enclosed trailer (3400# =/- w/ cargo) I got around 10 on the interstates @ 75mph. I get a little better pulling my goosenecks because evidently they don't have the drag the enclosed trailer has, even when loaded. I can get 12 or so with them. Both are around 4700#. I don't drive for economy though. 32000 + miles since April 14th. With these drag trumps weight.
With the OEM 20" tires I got around 18 mpg hiway at 70-75. Currently running 295/65R20, So 1 inch taller and slightly wider and I see 17 mpg at freeway speed.
Day in and day out driving is 15.x mpg
Towing my 13,000lbs 4H GN trailer is 10.0 -10,5 mpg
There have been communtes where I held 65 mph for 100 miles and saw 20+. But it doesn't take many start/stops to drop that down into lower numbers

Driving around town I usually get in the 15 to 16 mpg range. On the hwy at 65 to 70 mph range I get 16 to 17 mpg. The 4.10 gearing makes me keep my speed down! Towing our 41' Solitude that weighs over 16K pounds I get 9 to 10 mpg depending on speed...usually in the 60 to 65 mph range. Not bad for a 350 dually in my opinion.
Here is a 1 year history of every single one of my fill ups. These are all hand calculations done at the pump taking miles driven divided by gallons pumped.
I live in Missouri where we don’t have flat roads. Best highway was 19.3.
Worst towing my 11,500 travel trailer was 8.2. I will add this...that 8.2 was when I had the crappy China tires on that trailer and I have never seen a mpg run within 1 mpg of that since upgrading to the Goodyear Endurance tires...meaning I am getting about 10-15% better MPG towing with the Goodyear’s.
Not that anybody gets a 350 SD diesel for gas mileage but i am curious what people are seeing for highway and towing MPG.
Anything above 0.0 is going to cost you BIG.
Mine is only a 250, with the 3.31. I regularly see 18-19 on the highway (70-75MPH) unloaded between regens. 17-18 for a full tank with a regen. Towing at 65MPH drops it to about 11-13. Lifetime average according to the truck is 16.9 after 16K miles.

My 2017 Dually, I got 10k on it (yeah only 10k) I can get 17 if I stay off the go pedal on the highway, 14 around town. 9-10 Towing my heavy 5th wheel.
Best was 17.02. Worst was 9.46. Average is 13.32. Worst is towing 14k fifth wheel. Best is driving down to VA Beach. 55-65. These are all hand calculated per tank. Not impressed with fuel mileage but I bought it to tow heavy. Tows awesome. So happy camper here. Also I drive hard and highway speeds are 76-83. My duramax got better mileage but the duramax didn't pull like this does. Duramax was even tuned and deleted. The Ford pulls better and will lug a gear and just go. The duramax was all out a lot faster (unloaded) 0-60 in 5.4sec. The Ford 0-60 7.3sec which I blame on self preserving torque management. Both were tested with the same cts insight.
I'm not impressed with the mileage either. My 2016 Duramax got 4-5mpg better unloaded on the highway. I haven't towed with the F-350 yet but I have a feeling I'll be very disappointed with the mpg but I'll have a big smile with the towing experience.
