I'm trying to get rid of the broken cobbled-together leaf-pack in my 1978 F150 4x4, tire size would be 33x12.50x15. Not really looking for much lift at all at this point but I have no idea what lift the current coils and junkyard-stacked-springs provide.
1. Can I eliminate the factory block (I'm guessing it is 3") if I go with those 3.5" leaf springs? It seems like that would give me only .5" of lift. With the 1-2" coils that seems about perfect.
2. With a 1-2" coil, what degree c-bushings do I need?
3. By removing the factory block, will I need to install leaf-spring shims to adjust my pinion angle?
Sounds like a good place to start. Make sure you leave the angle block in there. You may also need a short lift block, say 1-2" just to level it up right. You'll be using trial and error. Let us know how it turns out.
