I would try the small magnet stick trick again. Stick everywhere that you can. Use flashlight, etc. Maybe it's still around.
A small USB camera is super cheap these days. I would try it before even drop the pane, unless you don't have time to wait.

I tried the camera, I got it all the way down to what looks to be the upper plate just before the pan, I couldn't see anything. Working the camera is a lot harder than it looks.
Id never wish that on anybody... nobody should have to pull a oil pan on their back with basic tools. I guess it needed it tho. It was leaking pretty bad, there's oil everywhere and the gasket was flat.
Putting it back together I can already tell us going to be a nightmare... and or an all day job. (For me)
If something makes it to the pan, why couldn’t you just drag it to the drain hole with a magnet on the pan?
Had no idea it was even in there, I didn't know until I pulled the pan, my guess is it was towards the front on the shallow end, while getting the pan out you have to tilt it so it slid forward into the bowl. Trust me I wouldn't have done all that if I coulda got it another way.
I thought my luck was bad before... it just got worse,
While trying to get #3 injector out the screw bit slipped off and fell into the engine.
😢😭
I heard it hit metal... if there was anytime I needed your guys help... it's right now
i did that before... dont feel bad... the driver i was using was one of those multi-bit types... but the little ball bearing that held it in got lost at some point before... went to loosen one of them it slipped out and *ting ting ting keplunk*... unfortunately for me i couldnt find it in the pan from the outside with a magnet... i had to drop the whole pan to get it out... but least it gave me an excuse to change out the lower 2 pan seals..
