I feel your pain brother! My truck is still sitting without a motor, halted by not getting the proper hoses (quick connects) in and with other jobs popping up while we were waiting for the parts. I'm starting to get frustrated...
We should get a pool going as to whose F150 will be on the road first!

Well, I'm eager to get this one, but I do have a Raptor to tide me over until then...
Got an update from my buddy a little bit ago. Motor Is done. He's working tomorrow and dropping the motor to get caught up so he can get to other jobs. Fingers crossed. He also sent me a few pics of the motor as he put it together.
Today is the day... He dropped the motor yesterday but didn't finish everything due to a hangover... Glad he didn't do much else in his condition. He's putting the final touches on now. Belts, hoses, fluids, etc.
Turns out the other day was not the day.... He got the motor in started it and ran about 10 minutes before making a terrible lifter tick. Pulled the cam covers and discovered the lifters were the wrong ones and the cams got chewed up a bit. Luckily he won't have to pull the heads. New, correct lifters and cams coming. Nothing in the oil.
Had dinner with him last night. New lifters and cams installed. He wants to pull the timing cover just to make sure everything else is still ok, then he just has to batten down the hatches. He was going to work some today and possibly finish it before heading east for Thanksgiving.
Motor is all back together as of last night. He ran it briefly as the radiator is not installed. Apparently it was hit when they pulled the motor and they just noticed it. New one was ordered and should be in today. Fingers crossed for today. I know he's eager to get it out of his shop and work on something else.

Sweet! Very happy for you. I should be getting mine back in a couple days as well. Everything is in and he just needs to swap everything off of the old intake to the new one. We also decided to replace all of the idler pulleys, as well as the belt tensioner because one of the idler pulleys was shot. Those should be in today. I'll update my motor swap thread with pics later today or tomorrow.
Stopped in today after getting my new tires on the Raptor... Heard it run and while there it threw a code for the camshaft position sensor. Easy fix. He will call later today when it is ready to pick up then my wife and I can both head into town for it.

Excellent! My mechanic called me today and apologized that he had come down with the flu, so it looks like I'll have to wait a few ore days

Caution. Don't be too sure. I tried to blow up one of the above pictures with every piece of software I got - and can't see the Mfg / Part # on either one of those Phasers. I sure hope they were pure OEM Ford phasers. Throwing a P0340 or p0345 code right after a timing job is NOT a real good sign. Possibly failing to plug in a cam position sensor is all it is.
