Today I removed the bench seat from the truck and discovered something (besides the $1.07 in change). My carpet is green not blue. The blue was the exposed carpet and the green was under floor matts or under the seat. The best color sample is from under where the back seat mount covered the carpet.
Does anyone know of a good way to dye the faded areas back to a close or exact match? I was thinking maybe finding the correct color paint and thinning it ALOT so I could use an empty spray bottle to apply it.
Should I try to pull all the color out first then apply this evenly or just put it on the blue arears?
The cost of carpet dye and the end result will leave you upset. It did for me, the dye is just a surface treatment and doesn't leave the carpet looking new. It also leaves the carpet crunchy. For about 160 you can have new carpet and be much happier.
