Rear Blocks and Level question

Hi everyone..

first post here. I have a 2015 F250 6.7 and it appears to have 4' factory rear blocks. I installed the ready lift 2.5" front leveling kit and it sags in the rear like my pre runner now lol. My question is what to do in the rear.. block spacers or what? Not sure what route to go since I already have 4" factory blocks. thanks!

Custom lift blocks (5”, 6” etc.) , add-a-leafs, new taller spring pack. These are some options. It always amazes me when folks lift the front and complain about the rear end being too low afterwards. It just makes sense to lift the rear anytime you’re lifting the front.

I'd also measure the front and rear. My truck always looks to me like the rear is sagging since i leveled it. But when I measure it its level at 43" from the ground. The front fenders I believe have a higher arch/ opening in relation to the rear so that the difference when they're not leveled is not so apparent.

that being said custom blocks, or lift springs in the rear are viable options if you want traction bars they sell blocks that are integrated with those. On the older trucks (99-07) you could do a shackle flip, I dont know if the newer spring hanger design allow for that.

It's easy enough to measure and figure out. Measure the height of your stock blocks. Measure from the center of your rear wheel hub to the the fender arch. Put a floor jack under the hitch and slowly lift until you are at the height that looks good to you. I'm assuming you aren't going up enough that it will actually lift the tires off the ground. Measure again from the center of the wheel hub to the fender arch. Add that number to the height of the stock block and you have your new block height.

PMF makes some nice blocks in .5" height increments and they are priced well IMO.

Blocks aren't really the best way to add height to the rear because it adds radial torque to you leaf springs due to increased leverage. the factory 4" blocks are ok due to ford engineering it that way but adding any height to that with a block would be questionable. you could get longer shackles or a leaf springs from a 2-3" lift kit.

Mine has 2.5" ready lift in the frontand 4" ready lift blocks in the rear. Sits dead level. If you have 2.5 front and 4 rear, then yours should be level as well. Are you sure your rear blocks aren't 2". My truck had 2" factory rear blocks and had the severe dog squat when I had the front lift installed and not the rear. I have been thinking about switching to the PMF rear blocks, to get my pinion angle in a little bit friendlier situation.

Look at your blocks and make sure they are 4". Not sure on the availability of 4" blocks on 250s, but I think it's generally a 350 thing. With a 4" rear block and a 2 1/2" front lift I'd think it would be pretty level. Pictures would help. Is it just slightly nose high or significant?

I don't know how similar the trucks are but I put a 2.5" kit on a 99 F250 with the 5.4. The leveling kit was made for the weight of a diesel I guess. I probably go close to 4" of lift on the front end. I replaced my stock rear blocks with F350 blocks and then it sat nice and level. I believe the F250 blocks were just under 2" tall and the F350 were just under 4" tall.

Totally different setup. The 99-04 trucks had leaf springs in the front, while the 05 and up have coils.

The rear is close to the same as the older trucks. I have heard that somewhere around 2014 Ford switched all 250s and 350s to the same rear blocks(4") from the factory. I am skeptical of that information because my 250 with camper package had 2"blocks.

different manufactures call this different things...you have a stock 4" block....you can get oem 4" lift blocks that will result in 0 lift for you.

a call to places like One Up Off road will get you what you need.

I'm not sure what you are trying to describe here. The the blocks are either 2" tall or 4" tall. There isn't a difference in stock 4" and oem 4". My original blocks were 2" tall. The ones I installed were 4" tall

I believe the f250 had 2” blocks and the 350 had 4” blocks.
i will be installing my bilstien leveling springs in the spring and changing out my rear blocks to 5” blocks. (As I hate the look of a dead level truck) mainly because of the sag it gets when loaded or towing.

The “fix” is to lift the rear the same amount as the front so when you are hauling something or pulling a loaded trailer the rear end isn’t sagging. This can be accomplished with taller blocks, add-a-leafs, taller spring packs, and/or air bags.

that’s the answer

i did a 2.5” lift in front and 3” lift in the back.

i needed a mild lift due to the shocks I wanted to use only being avail for a min lift truck or higher and they did not have a shock for a stock truck.
