Does anyone know where I can get a new or NOS turn signal bulb socket for the drivers side of a 76 F-100 (the one on the front of the truck) I've looked at LMC and other sites but can't seem to find one. The one I have is in poor shape and even after cleaning it with a Dremel tool, the bulb stays dim.
And good sites for good used parts for the 70's trucks?

D1FZ-13234-A .. Parking Lamp and Tail Lamp (Styleside & Bronco) Socket - Right/Left is the same / Obsolete
1974 F100/350 from serial number T80,001; 1975/86 F100/350 & Econoline; 1978/86 Bronco.
Check and clean the ground near the socket and make sure you have good 12V to the socket. Your problem may not be the socket itself. Also check that the contacts in the socket have a good connection to their wires, I have run across some where everything looks good externally but the wire to contact connection had deteriorated... could be able to fix instead of replace.
I cleaned everything really well with a Dremel tool and a brass wire brush attachment, the connections look pretty good now. I can't get to the connection where the wire meets the socket because of the way the socket is made (molded plastic) though. I suspect that might be where the problem really is, but no way to get to it w/o destroying the socket itself. I'm getting good voltage to the socket too and verified the wiring to the harness itself. I replaced the original bulbs with LED bulbs, and verified that both bulbs work great in the other (passenger side) socket too.
Had one I could not find a replacement for a while back - wound up using a dremel and stone to grind away the socket shell above the bad joint. Resoldered it, filled in the uncovered area with RTV and never had another problem with it. Glad you got it handled.
I replaced both sockets on my 78 f150 with ones i found on amazon. They were only $5 each. The fitment was a little loose in the lens so i used the foam washers from my old sockets and doubled them up on the new ones.
I just came back from the junkyard...........looking for reverse light sockets for my 78. a bunch of the newer cars sockets still fit my old Fords. The sockets from a 92 F150 fit in the 78s tail light molding. So do a 96 Blazer, S-10 model. Just a thought.
Are you having to anchor them into your old housing, or do they slip fit tight enough on their own?
I've always had problems installing new sockets into old reflectors (the sockets are common) because they were always a loose fit when the old one was removed.
1974 F100/350 from serial number T80,001, 1975/79: Parking lamps and Styleside tail lamps: The lens/body is a one piece molded plastic assembly, the separate sockets twist into the lamps.
1978/79 Bronco & 1975/91 Econoline use the same lamps and sockets.
