Fuel System

With my erratic ideling problem I have followed my haynes manuel and found that all the vacuum lines are fine. Timing is good, plugs and wires are good, distributor is good. Only code is 41 (hego lean). As far as the fuel system I am pretty sure the problem is the pressure regulator still need to test it. I have the in tank FDM and according to the manuel if when you turn the key you hear it than it is operational. I not only hear it when I turn the key but, after starting the truck I can hear it kick on (with all other accessories off and it quiet) However a friend of mine is stuck on this FDM being the problem. At this point and being new to repair I am going to test the fuel pressure and pressure regulator per the manuel. May also have to test the injectors.

The question,

If I hear the in tank pump running all should be fine there?

It also looks like the fuel rail has to come off to repalce the pressure regulator (if that is the problem) and all injectors are ok is there a way to clean the injectors while i'm down in there?

Thanks Shawn

Forgot to mention did a compression test all cylinders either 160 or 165. With the majority being 160.

The only thing I can speak to is the replacement of the regulator. It should be removable with removing the entire rail assembly. Its three screws I believe on the under side of the regulator. Someone correct me if I missed something.
