A couple of months ago my passenger side window started making a lot a racket and going up slow. I decided it was a job for "Window Man" and took it to the local autoglass store. He replaced the gear for $45.00 and it worked okay until about a week ago when it quit all together. This time it was $103.00 to replace the motor. Moral of the story, maybe I should have replaced the whole thing to start with.
Well after using a VOM meter to test eveything up to the motor
i came to the conclusion that it was the motor. Getting the motor out was a bugger. only one of the bolts was visible. So used a metal bit and drilled holes in the sheet metal where the bolts were and used a socket and spinner (screwdriver tipe handle)
to remove the last two bolts (three in all) Make sure to use a big enough bit so that the socket will fit through. Also make sure you have a magnet rod. i dropped the screws inside the door many times. Problem solved
