2005 Excursion 6.0 question
It cooled off, started, I took it home and parked it, driving a 2004 Excursion, with fewer miles, runs great.
After reading on the forums, I purchased a autoenginuity ford package, finally tried it out today, decided to try to figure out what is wrong, everything I read indicated a oil pressure to injector problem.
The Voltage Control Module section in the scanner, only registered 13 volts, while running, it would sometimes jump to 25 or 30, then drop back to 12 or 13. Is this Voltage Control Module the same as the FICM I am reading about, which is supposed to be around 48 volts.
I know it is a dumb question, but assume I know nothing about this, and you will be right..lol. The truck has brand new batteries, and they whirl the engine, so I assume they are fine, it has a brand new alternator as well.
If this is the reading for the FICM, then that is the place to start for sure, replacing it first.
Thank you one and all for any help with this.
main power , which needs to stay at 48.5. / 49 v, nothing lower than ford base value of 45v
logic power , 12.0 to 13.5
vehicle power , 12.0 to 14.0
there will be some fluctuations in the readings especially when the glo plugs are on and driving , but not below say 10v and 45v anytime.you will see better numbers when the engine is heated up making the Ficm look better, it’s best to test Ficm Cold Koeo key on Engine off for the Test. You might be seeing the voltage on the Ficm relay but
Ed down at Ficmrepair.com will fix you up .
