Seriously considering going a different route this time on my personal truck and a new travel trailer.
Looking into maybe getting a 2019 F350 4x4 long box, gasser, regcab.
Putting an Amerideck lift on it, and buying a small TT to tow.
Are the Ameridecks reliable and a well made unit? Will be lifting no more than 1500 lbs on it and they say its rated to 2500 lbs. But i can't find much on their quality.
2. What is a good trailer hitch for adjustable height up and down, that will also push the trailer back an extra 8 inches or so from a normal hitch point.
The reason I am wanting it back is for the times I have the Personal Watercraft on the deck, and tow the travel trailer, because the water craft are long and I don't want interference between them.
Last question is how well does an F350 handle about 2200 lbs in the box, while towing a trailer around 6000 lbs on a hitch moving it back slightly more than usual?
Cant say for the rest of the questions, but the last one talking about weights. Thatd be around 2900lbs extra on the truck. Depending on payload, which if it has a reg cab should be quite high, it should work just fine. FWIW, my crewcab long bed gasser has around 3600.
Ball Mount for 2.5" receiver hitch with long shank are the words to search for. I doubt you will find an adjustable one. Will you want a weight ditributing hitch?
You wouldn’t likely need WDH, and the trailer and load will be nothing. Most RC LB gassers have 4000 lb approx of weight capacity, 2500 weight, 1000 in hitch weight, you won’t notice much at all. It will handle it well. The weight on the truck will make it handle very well. Mines a crew long diesel and I have done similar and don’t even notice it’s back there, on there.... weight capacity on the truck with a 11,500 Lb GVW, is 3000 lbs.
