I recently bought a 2011 Exp 4x4 w/121k and with the first few tanks am getting 11 mpg around town. I thought it would be better. I got 10 in my 2000 6.8 Excursion years ago...
I read the spark plugs were redesigned in another thread so the tune ups wont cost 1k. Any quirky things to look for or know?
I've only had mine (2011 with 135k)for 3 weeks and I'm in a small town but lots of KY hills. I'm running about 14.9 mpg average after 5 fill ups.
My current 2000 E-150 with the 5.4 gets about 12-13 around here. If your doing a lot of stops and starts, and heavier on the pedal, I could see you getting that low of mpg. However I'm pretty heavy-footed and switch to 4A whenever it rains so maybe 11 is low?
