Mass air conv. backfires

Engine swap first, the cam and other upgrades left it running rich. Went to Fiveology for a 460 specific swap with their PCM and Mass air sensor. I don't see nay issues of spark misfire, all components are new. I have had my hands all over this engine running and no zap to me. It was performing well until I fixed a good sized exhaust leak. after it sputters and backfires under load. Idle is fine and full throttle by hand sitting still will only produce a small pop if at all.
