I have a 1997 f250 for a beach truck and it all the sudden lost forward gears from a leak in the tranny line and I guess burning out the clutches. It has some miles on it but the case looks fine and it never whined or made noises.
My question to yall would be would it be a better bang for the buck to rebuild it with a heavy duty rebuild kit or to buy a healthy used one.
My thoughts on rebuilding it is it would be better because it is a beach truck that gets ragged on and is pushing a 9000lb truck with 35s and 10psi in them through the soft sand all day. It endures alot of heat im sure and is under wot ALOT. so I believe a stage 2 rebuild with a transpak stage 2 shift kit is in order.
