Need help looking for a gremlin
Hey guys,
first post here want to thank all in advance. We are having a crazy problem with our service truck. It is a 2002 f250 extended cab utility body 5.4L with 177k. Intermittently, the reverse lights turn signals and solenoid for changing gears do not work (can drop it into gear without hitting brake pedal). They all go out at the same time but it's intermittent when it shuts off. i dont see any ground or wiring issues when I ripped apart the dash but could be mistaken. Leaning towards a bad gem module. Anybody have any advice? Thank you!

I had a 2001 F350 V10 that went wonky on me after having the windshield replaced. All sorts of strange electrical behavior. Strange warnings, couldn't turn off the lights, brake warnings, turn signals & hazards wouldn't work, etc. Turns out the windshield on the driver's side wasn't sealed right and it leaked. Moisture from rain and even the morning dew was running down the back of the dash and the firewall and getting a fuse panel and the GEM wet.
Had the windshield re-installed, and after things dried out, the truck started behaving "better." Unfortunately, a few of the Gremlins started coming back; on further investigation we found the back of fuse block was corroded and the GEM Module was "contaminated". Once both of them were replaced, all of the problem went away.
Made a stink and the Windshield company covered about 80% oft the repair bills.
Had the windshield re-installed, and after things dried out, the truck started behaving "better."
