So i was doing an auto to manual swap over the past few weekends. I have everything installed and seems to be in working order other than my starter, waiting on mine to get delivered. However i noticed that my turn signals do not work anymore. If my lights are on and i put on a turn signal the brake light will just go out and not blink, same with either side. I did not unpkug anything during the swap other than the neutral safety switch fron the c6. Does the blinker somehow run through this? Obviously the blinker stalk is doing something since it is shutting off the correct side light, just not blinking. Everything worked before i took anything apart. Thanks.
Both ends of the truck. Front turn signals are on the same circuit as rears. Check grounds, check grounds in and through all sockets. Note there are two flashers and turn signals can work while hazards are dead and vice versa. Switch is the biggest pain, therefore the last item, to check. Bulbs and grounds are 'way easier and probably account for 90% of the issues.
Make sure your hazard switch is all the way off. I've seen some Ford TS switches exhibit this problem. The button gets pushed in far enough to where the hazards don't flash, but not far enough to complete the pass-through circuits needed for the directionals.
Is the battery fully charged? I could see a low battery unable to trip the flasher. And check your flasher. It is up behind and above the headlight switch, either fastened to the upper kick panel, or just hanging by its wires back there. There is one for hazards and one for directionals. Hazards require a 552, and directionals take 276, or some number close to half of the 552.
But you can use a 552 for the directionals and it's considered heavy duty.
Thanks for the replies all. I highly doubt its the bulbs since everything was working before i ripped out the trans. I dod tie up a few wires that were hanging down maybe i pulled one loose. One of you mention the hazard switch, which doesnt work due to not have the flasher installed however maybe it is pulled out and causing the issue since i was messing with the column to get the correct pedal assembly in. I will double check the grounds too. Thanks again. If i figure it out ill post what happened. Maybe itll help someone in the future
