I just posted this in 2011 and new Explorer. Looks like the Explorer may be getting some new bones along with it's stable mate, the Lincoln Aviator.
Any of this sound familiar? I'll wager that Ford waited for the Ranger / Bronco to redesign the Explorer and re-introduce the Aviator.

they are reporting that they will use the CD6 chassis. is this confirmed or will they be using a modified Ranger chassis in a manner similar to the bronco?
heck lets do some REAL wishing...Ranger and Bronco get the 5 cyl diesel...sales go through the roof...options for the 4 cyl diesel become available and they start installing 4 and 5 cyl diesels in the Explorer/Aviator as well...now THAT would be interesting...7-8 passenger SUV with awesome towing packages of petrol or diesel options. one can hope
also as a side note, has anyone heard anything from Mazda about possibly doing the BT-50? It is a shared platform with the global Ranger...and some were seen in Mazda's California office...that would be kinda neat to see here as well I think.
