1994 xlt f-150 4x4 had a 5.8 now has 5.0. Replaced the e4od with a rebuilt unit because it lost 3rd and overdrive and only costal clutch code showing. Replaced with a new unit and convertor new cooler also. now it bangs going into reverse and wont start in first acts like it starts in 3rd. It now has codes for shift selnoid 1 and 2 circuit, tcc circuit, coast clutch circuit, trans temp circuit and electronic pressure circuit. my question is where to start and which relay will run these thanks any help is much wanted thanks
Your not getting power to the trans, when it starts in high gear in the D position.Did you put a baggy over the electrical connectors while changing the trans and or spray them out good with electrical cleaner before plugging them in?
the trans worked after the motor swap until the overdrive went but it is possible. Is there a good wiring diagram on what feeds the trans power I found a pin out of the plug and that pin 1 red power from pcm relay would be my first place to check but un sure on what feeds that relay also what voltage it should be I would guess 12 volt but not sure. I am not sure on install a 'friend' did it on it and it is my feed truck. any input or wiring diagrams would be a great help thanks mike clark

The power feed is battery power, 12 VDC nominal.

If your friend did not use a flexplate for a 5L engine with an E4OD transmission you are in for more problems. The 5L engine uses a different balance weight. The flexplate for E4OD versus a AOD/4R70W is different too.
