You mentioned in another thread that the white was the only secondary color. If you ordered white as the primary color could you then pic any color for secondary like below?

The only two-tone truck I know of with a primary color of Pure White (C) is a CM - Pure White and Wimbledon White.
This truck makes me a little suspicious -
Custom Cab script on the doors but no stainless trim around the windshield.
Gas tank door in the bed that appears to be painted the same color as the bed white
White wheel paint seems to match the truck white
Hubcaps - a bit tough to see - but they appear to be Econoline outies with a hole cut into the front ones for the hub locks
What can you tell us about this truck? Any pictures of the Warranty Plate and interior dash pictures?
I've seen a couple of trucks painted like this but on further inspection they had been repainted.
It's a truck I was considering buying a few years ago, factory 66 SWB 4x4. Had been repainted, 302, a few other changes. Came out of Nevada, was in Penna when I was considering it but the price was a little two high so I decided to build my own. The same guy had a 2wd with the same paint combination that also came
from out West. Here are a few other pictures I saved.
Dang, no pics of the Warranty Plate? The interior looks like normal Custom Cab paint job. The exterior from the trim up looks like Regular Two-tone and then all of it taken into account is Deluxe Two-tone.
If the Color were listed in this case it would be something more like (assuming Wimbledon White primary and Caribbean Turquoise secondary)
MB
That would be valid. I have no examples of Wimbledon White being listed first, but this might be one.
The dash does look more like Wimbledon White to me than the exterior, but the dash has possibly not been repainted. It's certainly been re-upholstered, though. That's one thick dash pad! Seat upholstery (possibly just a cover) and door trim panels are redone, too. But, cool truck. I might buy that one if I had the chance.
In Canada up to 65 the white code U was listed first and then the main colour second. Maybe this was built early 66 in Canada with the new USA tag system. Someone could have stamped the colour digits as UB instead of BM for the American way. The painter might have just said ok...
The warranty tag would be of interest on this one ( color code or possible DSO ), but, without any possible clues, IMO, this appears to be a repaint in owners preference. However, Canadian built trucks were often painted in the reverse two tu tone pattern from the factory. Someone with a Canadian Data book should be able to tell us this definitively.
I have the Canadian version of the 1966 Salemans Facts Book, but it's the same book as the U.S. version with an insert page up front explaining how to convert quantities.
I do have this 1965 reference page for Canadian paint codes. If secondary color is listed first in that right-hand column, as RangerMercMan mentions in post #6, then the last entry of RU should be this reverse scheme.
Not really reverse dash paint. The truck above is a Custom Cab and the primary color is white which says the instrument panel face should be the secondary (automatic or chosen) color and is another reason the 1966 F100 4x4 that is the subject of this thread seems wrong to me. Given the colors on the outside the area around the radio, glovebox and ashtray doors and anything around the gauges and ***** (below the Custom Cab dash trim) should be blue. Insides of the doors should be white, steering column and wheel should be white, etc. etc.
Here's some info about 1964 United States two-tone paint application that seems to apply to 1965 and 1966 as well. You can see that Wimbledon White is required for any two-tone paint jobs.
But do any of these rules apply if it was a DSO?
i had seen an ad for another truck, it was white on the bottom, some red color, not a standard color, above the belt line. The ad stated that the truck had been repainted using original colors and that the data plate had no color listed and was a DSO.
So it doesn't seem to be to much of a stretch to think that if the factory was willing to paint a truck a non standard color it would also be willing to swap the placement of the colors. I sure wish I had a photo of the data plate from this truck.
