Chains?

So I hooked up the travel trailer for the first time, what's with the huge hitch the chains wouldn't fit I had to take the springs of the hooks to get them on, I picked up some Reese couplers and they were to small

This has been addressed quite a few times. It’s a horrible design but we are all stuck with it. I used a set of hammer locks in the place where the chain would usually hook and now I hook my chains to the hammer locks.

thers have used two part shackles with success.

Yes there is a thread about this and what members are using to correct the issue. I use shackles to hook the tow chains from my TT on with. My boat and utility trailers hooks seem to work ok with the hitch as they are longer and with no WD system.

5/8" D-rings on the hitch work perfect for me
