I need a little extra support, for the rear, of my 15 F350. Looking for any opinions on the Timbren or Sumo helper springs. I don't want to do the air bags so am looking at either of these two. Open to any opinions either way. Thanks.
I installed Timbrens on my 2011 F250 and did not like the results at all. Loaded the ride was harsh and unloaded if you hit a bump you could feel the timbrens hit the stops. I wound up adding a leaf and removing the Timbrens which worked well. I eventually traded for a new 2016 one ton single rear and for my circumstances it works well with no additions to springs. I don’t have any experience with Sumo products. Good luck.
I have Timbrens to carry over 4k truck camper in bed. Had them on 2 different F350's.. love them..simple cheap and works. Off the truck? well it's a truck and ride harsh without timbrens in my opinion. And how often due you hit big bumps? I live in a state with excellent roads..NH... just got back from cross usa trip with camper.. NH has the best roads...I'm lucky.
I also installed timbrens on my f350 for the reasons you mentioned. They work great, no issues. I don't notice any rougher ride with them on and not loaded.
I added Timbrens to my F350 and tow a 5th Wheel. Air bags are a nice feature for leveling but my F 350 sits level with 2,300 lbs of Pin weight from the 5th Wheel. Save some money go with the Timbrens.

IMO, Air bags are superior in every way, and hence why they are very popular.
What are you trying to accomplish? Sit level or handle load better, both?
Timbren works great for my F-250. Key is to make sure the spacing above axle is correct. I had to add an additional 1/2" spacer to get to the proper spacing. Rides stock when unloaded, rides smooth and at proper level when towing my 7000 lb trailer.
Airlift kit is about as much or sometimes cheaper than the Timbrens. Look on Amazon or sdtrucksprings.com. I am going with Timbrens for ease of use and install, but the $$$ I found was just the same. Timbrens are $320 and the Airlift for my truck is $278. Food for thought.
Air bags are more active than timbrens. I wouldn't have a big truck without them. They work with the shocks all the time because they are bolted to the truck and the rear end.
I installed the simple Sumos that replace the bump stop like Timbrens. I got them because they are supposed to be less harsh. After a year, no complaints and it did flatten out the truck through the curves on Vermont roads.
