Wondering if anyone else has experienced this with their 6.7.
From 67 mph to 74 mph only while in 6th gear and under light throttle I hear an audible hum from the engine. It's not very loud but over the course of minutes, it becomes increasingly annoying.
I searched around the forum with no luck. I don't believe it is the tires or coming from another source, sounds like it is coming from directly in front of me in the engine bay.
Any help appreciated. I'll eventually bring it into the dealership, but this sounds like the kind of problem they would dismiss.
I've got something similar, and it can get annoying. I've just considered it a function of the turbo just sucking in more air and, more or less, ignored it as ours kicks in around 71 mph. We're not at those speeds all that often. If you find it, let us know! David
I have the same thing with my '17 6.7 and have always chalked it up to the turbo as already suggested. I notice the turbo gauge up just a little at 70 MPH for some reason.
I believe I have a similar sound since new and Ford wants a shift cable to be replaced. I haven't got it in to the dealer yet to see if that's the fix or not but mine doesn't do it in 5th gear so I drive 5th when at speeds 65-70.
I haven't spent enough time above 70mph for it really to annoy me but i will mention it when i bring the truck in for service. Thanks for the input guys.
