erratic with no codes

97 f350 7.5l e4od with 107,000 miles. run koeo and get 111, run koer get 111. It doesn't matter if I'm idling, accelerating, decelerating, cold or warm. Random coughing, stumbling, hesitation, and missing. It sounds like I'm starving for fuel and the motor can't keep up. The instrument panel goes haywire, gauges moving everywhere, but the backlight never goes off. Replaced wires, plugs, distributor, ICM (black), EGR valve, EGR position sensor, fpr, and fuel filter. Fuel pressure is at 40 even when problem is present. Checked all grounds according to EVTM manual, along with cleaning area to bare metal, retighten, and dielectric grease. Verified all vacuum lines held vacuum and routing to proper location. Pulled PCm to see if components looked alright. The PCM board looks incredible for its age or it's been replaced once already. There is a Superchip attached to the rear of PCM. No idea what it does, company no longer supports this year of truck. I'm at my wits end with this thing. I also have all Ford service manuals and PCM/Emission manual as well. Every test so far leads me further down a rabbit hole with "normal" conditions. Any help appreciated.

Pull that add-on SuperChips board and see if the problem goes away.

Keep it simple. If you have all that random stuff going on and no CEL light when it happens, then there's a problem.

Check and Clean ALL grounds as this can cause similar problems you mentioned.

When I remove the chip, is the rear portion of the board suppose to plug into something. I can't see or feel any connector the PCM fits into. Thanks for your help.

No, nothing plugs into it. Just be sure that it cannot make contact with the body or exposed metal.

Removed chip from PCM and so far it seems to have fixed my issues. Idled for an hour and then drove 40 miles stop and go with two different places that I needed to stop at. So far so good. Will update if symptoms reappear. Thanks again.

Thanks for filling us in! Maybe the super chip went bad and caused the PCM to act wonky?

That SuperChip was junk when it was introduced and I've seen several members complaining of problems they had and then discovered that "Miraculous" chip plugged in. That company made millions off of folks. Just like that those **** CAI's that suck in HOT intake air and throttle body spacers and folks keep buying them...

All it did was bypass/defeat the calibrations for the PCM. Most of the stuff could have been done with advancing the timing, running a cooler t-stat, opening the gap on the spark plugs.
Mostly anything that could be done by someone with common mechanical knowledge and a few tools.

Yeah I hear ya, bought this truck two years ago and all was fine with it. Then random stuff started happening with the frequency happening more often too. I had no idea that chip was on there. Almost went on a bender because of this thing. Thank for the info.
