Sorry if this one has been on here before, but I watched on cable last night, a documentary on these "crop circle" events. I have always shrugged them off as pranksters, like most do. But, last night they showed aerial veiws of some I've never seen before. wow, they were awesome, from a aerial view . They had geometrical and mathematical influences that were just , baffling, to me. And now, I am starting to doubt my skeptisim about them, and I hate that, its easier being a skeptic. I sorta wished I had not seen it.. Anyone see this show ?
dude, what ever u r smokin put it away, there aint no such things as aliens, the people who make these r nerds who never had girl friends so they do this to get attention, these nerds probly where smarter or really dumb, havent u ever seen "signs".
i tell ya if i ever caught one a them nerds makin one a them in my fields id put a big hurtin on em.
The concesus of opinion is that they are the work of humans who have nothing better to do. The arguments for such opinions is very strong, indeed it is possible to replicate some of the corn circles, very easily, in short time.
However, the circles replicated are simple, whereas the vast majority of larger circles are far from simple. Whoever makes them does an amazing job, Very rapidly, so complex that it takes days to even try to replicate them.
Nobody gives an authoritative opinion on those circles... I have seen them, from the air, on a number of occasions - having been stationed at an airbase close to a spate of circles, in the UK, in the 70's. Those were too big to see from the ground, covering 4 or 5 acres, and having many units within the sphere of them. I would like to see the nerd that made them, their talent was wasted in 1974.

Theo
Theo, good to hear from someone that has personally seen them, I have not seen one myself in person, only on t.v. Of course, after watching the movie "Wag The Dog" my whole perception of what I veiw on t.v. has changed. The documentary showed some that some circles were in the square MILE catagory. Well, that is one of the reasons I feel it is easier being a skeptic about such matters. If one comes out and states , " I see no way human pranksters could have originated or duplicated these circles" then they are saying , without saying, that it must have been done by et's. So it looks like regardless of how one TRULY feels about these things, it is better to go unspoken I guess, and not be accused of smokin' the wacky weed .
I watched a show earlier this year that revealed the secret behind these crop circles. I always wondered how they came to be also. If they were pranks done by humans, how on earth was something so huge done so perfectly, completed in one night, and how did they get in and out without leaving a trail? They are, in fact, pranks. A group of young men agreed to reveal how they did this. The designs are drawn out carefully on paper using precise measurements. Then they enter the feild, being careful to follow the rows so that no plants are disturbed. When they reach their starting point, they take out ropes that are cut to lengths that correspond to the measurements on their drawing. These ropes give them their circle radius. One man holds one end, while another holds the other and using a simple board on his foot, he makes the perfect OD of the circle. These 4 men had been doing crop circles for years. TV crews set up a high boom camera over a feild and the men went out that night to prove what they had said. It took them all night, but when the sun came up, there was a perfect copy of their drawing in the feild. No tracks in, no tracks out.
i agree with T (theo) in 6th grade we studyed them and our teacher said they were a bunch of mathimatical genuises that mapped out the patterns on grids and went out with these things that look like surf boards with handles and stomped the corn down
I dont know, you guys..... I am also skeptical of these and other "encounters", but who am I to say that we are alone in the universe?? Maybe I should keep my mouth shut before this ends up in the pig pen (I avoid that place like the plague)
i saw that same show....the made a huge very intrecate design in just a few hours one night. had a group of about 10 guys and different shapped pieces of wood and just had themselves an organized hoe down Just a couple of sleep deprived corn field designers -- nothing more!
You may be able to make small simple patterns with a bunch of people, but I would think someone would notice it. Most of these things pop up over night and no one every sees or hears anything. And to make a real large complicated patterns in one night would be impossible unless you were grey and had really big eyes.
