First post to the forum. Got a 93 f150 4.9l and its throwing some codes. Went to get the codes read and got code 53 and 202. Found 53 is the throttle position sensor, but for the life of me can't find what 202 is. So thats my question. What code is 202. She seems to misfire from time to time. Either at idle or driving. Thanks in advance, maybe I can get old Betsy back down the road
On the OBD1 system, you will Never have a mix between 2 and 3 digit codes.
And I'm pretty sure your '93 is 3 digit as my '92, 4.9, 4wd, Ext. Cab is 3 digit codes.
Need to have someone redo the code retrieval and post back your results.
Got the code read at O'Reillys. I saw the reader. One code was 53 and the other 202. 53 is tps. And they do throw 3 digit codes i looked them up but they skip over 202

Also got the codes from the eec IV. Which is under the hood.
My 93 4.9l uses the 3 number code system. according to my code reader manual a "53" code is TPS over max voltage. the 3 number code for that is 123. You are right the codes jump from 193 to 211 so a 202 isn't anything we can guess about.

Yea I'll go to another place and have it rescanned like Timbersteel above said. Thank you!
I bought a code reader from amazon. It is invaluable. Comes with a book that explains everything and lists all the codes and how to do all the tests. You can also get a 6 ft cord for it,which makes it way nicer as you can sit in the seat and see what the reader is doing.
