Fuel Neck - New Bed Panels

Fuel Neck - New Bed Panels
I'm replacing the bed panels on my 1978 RWD F250 with an aft-axle tank. The fuel neck was cut away when the bed was being replaced and I need to connect it again. Is it best to do this before welding the new panels on? I'm assuming I just need new fuel neck hoses and maybe a gasket for the new panel cutout.

Doesn't the new panel have the filler spot stamped into it?
if so just hang the panel and then get the needed parts to get it into place.
Now if the panel doesn't have the filler opening I would get measurements from a truck that has a rear tank so youknow where it should be but don't cut yet.
Then get the filler parts and between the filler parts & the measurements you should be pretty close to factory spot.
I added a rear tank to my 81 flair side. I took measurements off the front tank filler opening and with the parts got it done and looks stock.
