Winter Project (48 F1)

Hello all. It's been a while since I've posted. You my know that my main focus on here has been my 49 F1 (Old George). I drive him everyday in the summer and haven't done much to it in the last several years. Too many other things occupying my time the last several years. After moving in 2015 and starting a new job, we ended up building a new house as well. On top of that I'm trying to keep my family's cars on the road. We bought my oldest son a 1972 Cougar. It got wrecked and we ended up finding a parts car to get it back on the road:

That one sat for over 10 years and we now have it on the road. Still tracing down a fuel flow issue, but other than that she runs amazing. 30 some thousand documented miles

Boy, I'm not sure what is going on but for some reason some of my text/pictures are not posting. Sorry this seems all jumbled up and doesn't make much sense without them. These pictures are of the 48 F1 I picked up as a winter project. All in all in really great shape. No real rust. New brakes/tires, the motor was supposedly rebuild about 30 miles before repaint started (2 years ago). The owner died in the process and I bought it from the shop.

I'm not to the point to where I want to start it just yet as I need to pour some Mystery Oil in the cylinders for a while, but I was noticing that the starter solenoid is hooked to the pos side of the battery. I switched my 49 to 12v neg ground shortly after I purchased it, so I'm not 100% clear on what all the differences are. This truck was on the road less then 2 years ago and I have not messed with the battery or anything else since I purchased it. That tells me that it was running just the way we see it now. Can anyone take a look and see what they think about the way it set up? Also, can you explain the selector switch above the solenoid? It looks to have a differentiation between 6v and pos ground? Bothe setting have a summer and winter time option. Isn't it just understood that a 48 is both 6v and pos ground? And yes, the truck needs an entire rewire..... Thanks for any assistance you can give.
