I'm still having some misfire issues, and since I have several of these clips that don't really hold on -- even with a zip tie -- I'd like to replace them without buying an entire wiring harness from Ford.
I purchased that exact kit, but haven't spliced any in yet. I've only had one factory clip break on me so far and that one is still holding fine with electrical tape.
Well, I know I have 3 clips at least that need replaced. Of those at least 2 are missing the rubber o-rings. Just seems like I should replace them as they're brittle and seemingly loose without the zip ties.

Tha's an insanely low priced kit! Motorcraft part is about $40 each, NAPA gets just at $21 each and I'm sure Dorman, SMP et al has them for a bit less too. For the most part those shown in the link might be good for a one time plug change, possibly breaking next time they're removed.
Having broken one of those once upon a time the hassle of replacing it on an E-Series van has me carefully removing them these days. If one becomes difficult to release a hair dryer or low-powered heat gun helps them come loose.
I'd be interested hearing from anyone whose used those parts and their degree of longer term success holding contact.
Ordered them. Hopefully doing some replacement today.
Would love to know your impressions after installation. BTW if you're not already ahead of me I'd use "red" (18-22 gauge) heat-shrinkable solderless crimp connectors.
Well, these specific clips DO NOT work with the original wires. The metal connectors are slightly larger? (hard to tell) and the seal gasket on the wire itself is larger on the factory wire than on the aftermarket. This kit required soldering.
That being said, I didn't get to finish. Was doing some other testing/cleaning of the COP and examining the plug when I managed to slip and fall off the truck, hurling the COP bolt to an unknown location. So, to Ford Parts I'll be going tomorrow.
You can order just the ends from ford. Look in the motorcraft connector catalog under two wire connectors. Think there are 6.00 each.
Do you have a part number or link for those? I'm somewhat adept at re-pinning Ford's various wiring connectors so this would be an easy swap. Would love knowing where just the plastic shells could be obtained.
$6 a connector is a bit steep for a plastic connector, but it would be faster and easier overall. Depends on your budget and willingness I suppose.
When an NAPA replacement connector with wires runs over $20 each, the Ford/Motorcraft equivalent listing well over $40 each $6 is a steal! Added benefit is no messing wiring splices, looks and functions much much better.
