Ford ecm
Need some help guys, i have a 1994.5 7.3 powerstroke i put a newer motor out of a excursion in it with e-fuel intercooler and a custom burned hydra chip to run the splits with the older ecm.
My problem is the truck idles great but anything above 1500 rpm it starts fuel knocking and missing, my old motor had tons of blow-by and harding starting and would do the same thing but would quit missing once warmed up. My tuner says i may have a bad ecm and i was wondering if i could swap a ecm out of a 1996 7.3 truck? They have the same DPC-203 code on them and the 1996 truck was a split shot injector truck so my thinking was, it should run my 2002 motor ok with out needing a chip. What im wondering is will it work with being obd2 and my truck not being obd2? And also will the 1996 ecm run my truck?
