The registration instructions on the main FORScan thread state that you must have a Windows PC with Bluetooth capabilities.
However the notes on the FORScan code spreadsheet list out three compatible interfaces...one Bluetooth and two USB.
Is BT capability still required if you plan on using a USB interface (I just ordered one)?
If you're asking if you can use either of the USB wired solutions with a Windows PC that doesn't have BT support, the answer is yes. BT is required only if you use the OBDLink MX BT adapter.
I find the BT adapter much more useful, as you can run FORScan Lite to monitor PIDs with a much more compact package (phone, tablet) while on the go.
If your only Windows PC doesn't support BT, you can always by a USB BT dongle for about $6 and up (Amazon) so that you can use the OBDLink MX instead.
