Having real concern for you guys on the East Coast...I'm about to puke!
As we have had our fare share of storms here. Just rebuilt our home after 2016 flood.
Prayers coming your way. Good luck.
I've got two nephews and their families in the Charlotte area and even though they are more inland you never know with tornado's. Not a storm to mess with and I've seen a lot of bad hurricanes in my 70 yrs. Hope everyone can get out of harms way!

I am in the area Charlotte as well. Even this far inland the grocery stores are pure madness.

I can imagine what its like. The bad thing is when people wait too late to evacuate the coastal areas and get caught in a gigantic traffic jam on the highway. When I was a kid we never evacuated for hurricanes but with the loss of land in South Louisiana we have no more protection against tidal surge. We evacuated for Katrina in 2005 and lucky we did...had wind damage but 40 miles south everything was damaged and flooded. 30 ft of saltwater can do some serious damage. Best not to take any chances. Praying everyone in the Carolina's and the East coast is spared from loss of life and property damage.
I'm in the NE corner so I don't believe we will get the brunt of it, but it's going to get ugly further south. It's shear hysteria here at the grocery stores and the gas stations. A lot of stations are out already, the local harbor freight sold one 18 wheeler full of generators with a second on the way. Fortunately I have base privileges, they have refilled the gas tanks twice already this week, so plenty of gas. It's going to be a long weekend for my fire department, I wish the best to anyone in the area, or anyone who has loved ones in the area.
I'm in the mtns and monitoring closely right now. Planning on loading up the SD Saturday and going down to the coast for some plug and play type utility work.
The latest trend is actually looking good for property damage and/or lives. But man, I'm afraid some coastal communities have a good chance of being wiped off the map.
Mandatory Evac for the the OBX and coastal SC, hopefully they heed the warnings. We are expecting a rain maker, all the farmers say it's dry enough to take ten inches or rain, but we should get more than that.
The 450 will stay in the barn unless I have to pull out the Vengeance to camp in the driveway. The 350 is my work truck. If I need to go anywhere, it will be the one. But hopefully, they'll both stay snugged in the barn until all this passes through.

A coworker left early yesterday to get his wife and some belongings from their home in Duck (northern end of OBX). Schools are closed as of today here in SEVA due to mandatory evacuations in low-lying areas. Some schools will be used as temporary shelters. We're at the northen edge of the probability cone, and praying it stays to our south. And we're praying for all those folks in NC where Flo is aiming to strike. Another coworker commented that Florence is still "movin' on up ... to the east side" Humongous amounts of rain forecast. Glad our home is not in a flood zone, but suspect days without power once all the trees start falling.
I'm outside of Charlotte as well and it looks like it's changed course and heading straight for us as a strong tropical storm. My 17 SD is staying under cover and won't come up till the sun shines.
My 55 mile drive home yesterday from Fayetteville to Raleigh took nearly two hours. I didn’t mind, it was all those who live in the coastal communities driving west on I40 well ahead of the storm.
Nothing happening up here in NH, but some towns in my small state are sending a few firefighters, some boats, and a big ladder truck down to NC. If you see anyone from Bedford, Conway, or Keene NH wave hello. Hopefully the impact is less than predicted. Having a Super Duty is a good thing...better prepared for water wading than most.
