Alright fellas, I got a problem. I replaced my old cab lights with some new LED cab lights. With the old ones, only two worked. I installed the new LED lights and none of them work. I have 12V going to each one and all are properly grounded, each verified with a Fluke. The instructions call for 12V power. Should I install a load resistor? Is there a trick with LED lights that I don't know? I contacted the manufacturer and asked for help, but have gotten no response. Any help would be appreciated.
I'd guess you probably need to reverse the wires. I just switched my bulbs out with 194 LED bulbs and they only work one way. Since you can't switch the bulbs in yours, you'll have to try switching the wires.
Ok guys. I swapped the wires. Now, three lights are working and two are not. Still now response from the manufacturer. I reread the instructions again and sure enough, they are written wrong. I will be calling them again and try to straighten this out. I'm afraid that I may have ruined the two that are not working.
That is correct, the bulbs are not removable. I called the manufacturer and low & behold, they only speak Chinese, so no help there. So I called Amazon, where I purchased the set and they are sending me another set for free.
Got my replacement lights. Tested two before installing them. All working now. I know that I am on the wrong forum since my truck is a 1978, but I knew you guys would have more experience with LEDs. Thanks for all the help.
