Hey guys I'm new here and I want to get some educated opinions.
My dad bought an 86 f250 single cab 2wd at an auction recently but his plans have changed and he no longer wants the truck. It's pretty straight and the interior is in good condition and runs and drives pretty good. He offered it too me for 1000.00. It has a 351w 4bbl that's been rebuilt at some point not sure when though. He's also replaced the u joint and king pins since he's had it. I've been looking for an older rig to buy, but ive been looking for something 4wd. I'm up in the air about buying it from him. I've heard this generation of ford trucks is starting to go up in value because more people are wanting to restore them. Are 2wd single cabs in demand? Should i jump on this?

I don't think I'd consider a reg cab 2wd F250 to be an in-demand truck, but everybody has different tastes. It doesn't sound like you're all that keen on the truck yourself, and if you only want to buy it because it may increase in value...I don't think I would. But, $1000 bucks is a good deal for a truck in good condition if you want one of those models. My 2 cents.
Years ago I bought my Original Mr. Majestyk '70 F-250 Reg.Cab 2WD, but got tired of No P/S or A/C.
Last April I found " MJ " Majestyk Jr. '84 F-250 Reg.Cab 351 2bbl with a T-18 Factory A/C & P/S
I not really sure that a 2WD F-250 will be on the ' Collector ' list but I do like the fact that I'm not
worried about scratching it BTY, there are a few mid '60's F-250's out here that someone put
some bucks into, it's all about you.
Get it, drive it, if you don't like it @ a $ 1000.00 you'll make a few bucks, Since April I've had
five people asking me if I'd sell " MJ "

Any running truck is worth at least $1000. Go for it. You can always sell it.
As others said single cab, RWD trucks aren't in high demand. However, the price is decent. Just don't buy it and start searching the forums for how to swap it to 4x4. It can be done but it's not easy. Good luck and keep us posted.
