Hi,
I may just be using the wrong search terms to find what I want. We were near Spruce Pine on a small mountain dirt road to a campground/cabin rental place at 12am. I have the dually 350 with the fog lamps. On those crawl-around corners, the lighting off 45 degrees is non-existent. We just could not see around the corners. I was trying to find a solution and was thinking some add on lights tied into the outfitter switches. Or is there a simple solution I am missing?
Something similar to 'rock lights' as offroaders call them, could be what you are looking for.
They are typically mounted in the wheel wells, or under the rocker panels to light up the area around the tires and off to the sides. Some compact LED's under the front bumper, or under the running boards pointing off to the side would solve your issue.
I replaced my fog lamps with 2 sets of Rigid lights mounted in the same hole of the bumper. One set are the Dot Compliant fog lamps that have a good cut off without blinding anyone and one set are nice wide flood type lights that are crazy bright hooked to an upfitter
I’m intrigued by the idea of rock lights, would be great for campgrounds and a good use of an AUX switch. Has anyone found a good choice of light or mounting system for these trucks?
I installed four Baja Designs Squadron Pro pod lights in place of the existing factory LED fogs. The light output is insane! They have different lenses that disperse the light differently; one specifically call their "wide/cornering" lens puts out a very wide light pattern and would probably give you that wide angled light you're looking for.
I used the KD Fabworks mounting brackets for the four (4) new Baja Designs Squadron Pro's. I was able to plug-and-play the white pair back into the factory fog light wiring with the wire connection adapters that came along with the brackets from KD Fabworks; allowing for the exact same operation as the factory lights before. The second amber pair is connected too with a plug-and-play (basically) harness I purchased from Baja Designs, to the #1 upfitter switch. Everything in terms of wiring and installation was great, I only needed to make one wire splice to the blunt end wire for the #1 upfitter.
My F-250 Platinum has built in spots on both side view mirrors. They work OK - I wish they would stay-on at a bit higher speed though - they turn off at about 5mph.
I like the Baja Designs Squadron Pro solution above looks great too. I have been happy with Rigid brand lights also.

Well duh on me. I looked at that again. I thought it turned on the entry lights on the side. But do need to look at the link for on at any speed.
