LOL yea it does not know what is good for it. Just got the old one off. Looks like this is going to be a 2 day job 15 yr ago this was a 2 hr. job. And no, it is not fun.
I did the EBP pedestal delete while I had mine off. Supposed to make it easier next time. I even had my trans out at the time and was still a PIA. Topside creeper makes it easier too. Might think about up-pipe dounuts while you are that far in. How are you liking that short throw shifter? Been thinking about one myself.
When I finally got a socket on that rear bolt with the extensions and universal, I couldn't reach my wrench. I was not going to let go of that socket on the bolt so I called my wife and she came out and handed me my socket wrench. LOL I hope I never have to do a stock turbo again!
I did the pedestal delete a long time ago when I put this old turbo on and my new one is also deleted. It has still been a pain in the butt. Has to be the worse job on one of these trucks. I to have a topside creeper. If not for that it would be far worse for my 5foot 6 in fat self'. I like the short throw shifter ernsppw.Had it for a long time. Someone used to build them on this forum . Now you have to go with a trans, company . Not going to shift the zf5 any faster with short throw v standard throw. lol I also found out that the hp cross over has to be removed to get that turbo out and in.
