Got the truck home. I'll tear into it soon. I'm open to suggestion on how to build this one. As of right now I'm thinking about a frame swap with a newer superduty. Making plans now...
Slam it and put a 12 valve cummins in it. Tow pig. Put some 20" alcoa's on it. I'd probably keep the beams. Or drop it on a 90s dodge 1500 frame with the 12 valve and drop that.

Nice to see it saved. Someone has altered the fender wheel openings. They are rounder than normal.
I noticed that. It looks weird to me, but I don't think the work done was shoddy. Do you think it was done to allow larger tires to turn without rubbing?

Darn good question. Don't think that is why since the rear openings were not touched. The fenders don't usually rust there to alter the opening. Someone did do a good job. I would guess some talented Body Man did it for personal taste. Or as Willie Mosconi used to say in that ol'e TV commercial...."just showin' off".

I was thinking more along the lines of work done to allow the tire to turn without issue. You wouldn't necessarily need to modify the back if the wheel fit inside the fenders without touching the metal.
