I was wondering if anyone has with Automotive Touch Up paint. I have some spots I need to repaint on the roof and front bumper. I was thinking of getting their color match and spraying the parts myself.
I've never used theirs specifically, but I've never had any luck with aftermarket touch up sprays in a rattle can. I will say though, their website kind of made me want to try it again.
I've used automotivetouchup.com several times. They've been very honest, even when it meant losing a sale because they could not ship paint to me soon enough for my needs because they were extremely busy at the time.
I had a color match issue with my Mustang which was NOT their fault (it has a three stage paint and the candy color coat was sprayed too dark during a previous repair) and they were very helpful getting a paint color which would match and blend.
You should be aware they sell paint to match the production paint on your truck. If you have a basecoat/clearcoat from the factory, (and I believe only the very early commercial Super Duty trucks came with single stage paint) you will need to use a clear coat over the color they supply. The SprayMax 2K they sell works as advertised, but requires a clear coat blending agent unless you clear the whole panel. SprayMax is available from a number of suppliers, but their prices are competitive with about any I've found.
Essentially the company sells a professional grade product. I will continue to use and recommend them. Spend some time learning about preparation, primers and clear coating before you begin. Proper preparation and application will make more difference in your results than whatever paint you use.
Thanks for the input. I am planning on buying their ready to spray paint for a spray d gun and redo the entire roof. Primer, base and clear. I figured it couldn't look any worse than now with pealing clear and a spot where the color coarse has burned all the wayears thru.
